Magnetic Component Engineering ("MCE"), a subsidiary of Dexter Magnetic Technologies ("Dexter"), manufactures permanent magnets and magnetic assemblies made to demanding customer specification in the aerospace / defense, semiconductor equipment, medical, and industrial end markets. MCE is based in Torrance, CA and operates one 48,000 square foot facility with 85 employees.

Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position
The Quality Control Inspector position is responsible for inspecting work during multiple phases of production and communicating and processing gaps in that quality according to our Quality Management System (QMS).
Major Responsibilities
+ Perform detailed inspections of aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications including first articles.
+ Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other measurement instruments to measure dimensions and tolerances accurately.
+ Inspect materials, components, and finished products for defects or non-conformance.
+ Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation of results.
+ Ensure that all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and functioning within established tolerances.
+ Provide assistance with calibration activities, ensuring that measuring tools are calibrated according to industry standards and regulations.
+ Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other team members to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
+ Identify areas for process improvements and contribute ideas to enhance the quality control systems.
+ Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards within the quality inspection processes.
+ Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to document inspection results, analyze data, and create reports as needed.
Hourly Rate - $23 to $29 depending on experience
Qualifications
Education and Experience
+ High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ 3+ years' experience properly reading and interpreting gages, inspection instruments and inspection techniques to determine part conformance.
+ Must have intermediate or above ability to read, interpret and calculate stacked blueprint GD&T dimensions in order to determine if a part is manufactured within customer or company specifications.
