Job Description
The Quality Control Chemistry Technician will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, performing a variety of chemical tests including HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, percent solids, viscosity, color, odor, appearance, some titrations, and other wet chemistry techniques. This role primarily involves GC testing, with the majority of time spent conducting product tests in the lab, blending samples, and documenting results. The technician will test liquid contents destined for aerosols and occasionally the aerosolized products themselves.
ResponsibilitiesConduct product testing using HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and various wet chemistry techniques.Document test results thoroughly in paperwork and notebooks.Blend samples and perform some filling tasks in production.File paperwork and enter data accurately.Test liquid contents for aerosol products and occasionally test aerosolized products.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma.1-2+ years of experience in GC or LC, open to various industries.Experience with HPLC, GC, pH, FTIR, and wet chemistry techniques.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is preferred.GC experience is critical for this role.Work Environment
The work environment is a laboratory setting with 3rd shift hours from 10pm-6:30am, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work or overtime after the first month. Initially, the technician will work on 2nd shift from 2-10:30pm. Safety is paramount, with proper PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, lab coats, and ear plugs provided and required. Physical demands include standing 75% of the time, sitting 25%, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. The team operates on a three-shift system with one Quality Lab Technician per shift.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
