Your Role:

 

A Quality Control Chemist completes a variety of laboratory processes and procedures in the scheduling, evaluation, and review of stock and specialty chromatography products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

Reviewing test results for conformance to specificationsPerforming advanced gas and/or liquid chromatography operations according to documented methods to evaluate stock and/or custom chromatography productsTesting all product groupsSelecting and preparing appropriate standards and solutions as required for product evaluationWorking with manufacturing and/or R&D departments to resolve nonconformancesExecuting experiments, analyzing, and reporting on resultsRecommending process or system improvements when possible, and taking a leadership role in addressing improvementsReviewing test results for conformance to specificationsGenerating and maintaining records of systems, procedures, and test resultsEntering and evaluating QC data using PC and lab automation systemsPerforming routine maintenance and troubleshooting of chromatographic instrumentation and related equipmentAssisting analyst with product scheduling and review of test resultsWriting/modifying standard operating procedures and related quality documentationAssisting in training other QC chemists

 

Physical Attributes:

 

Involves lifting; up to 10 poundsUse fine motor skills and stand up to 90% of the day

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or other scientific field1+ years of laboratory experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience in gas and liquid chromatographyBasic knowledge of statistics and statistical variationsDemonstrated PC knowledgeAbility to work well with others both within and outside of the QC areaAttention to detail.
