Quality Assurance Tester
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Software Testing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing in testing and live environments and in writing test scripts. This role is critical in ensuring that the software that supports the client’s federal government needs is thoroughly tested with each release and update. Although this role reports to the reports to the Training Development & QA team, its time is spent supporting a client team that is responsible for online tool development and enhancements and dotted-line reporting to their associate director. Therefore, this role will exist in both circles of influence. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and understand business processes, workflows, and procedures. + Utilize a technical mindset to learn the software being tested thoroughly enough to test all things that new releases could impact. + Analyze both UAT (user acceptance testing) and ORT (operational readiness testing) epics to write thorough test scripts. + Perform both UAT and ORT testing for new software and software enhancement releases. + Manage tickets and follow-up testing for items that did not pass testing until all items are resolved, and the epic can be closed. + Represent the team’s needs during testing, assuring that previous issues experienced by the support team are included in testing. + Maintain dashboards and provide regular updates to leadership on scheduled testing, testing results, and concerns with timelines. **Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study or equivalent relevant experience. + Certified Tester -- Foundation Level (CTFL) desired + 0-2 years of Information Technology experience in requirements development, programming, software testing, technical writing, customer call support (Help Desk) desired. **Other Job Specific Skills** + Proven experience in QA test script writing and software UAT and ORT testing. + Proactive approach to gathering what is needed to write test scripts and perform testing. + Critical thinking skills to determine what needs tested, if different approaches are needed, if everything that should be tested is in test scripts, and so on. + Excellent listening and interpersonal skills to effectively gather and interpret information from diverse stakeholders. + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Capable of learning various computer applications and systems related to software training needs. + Ability to meet deadlines and communicate progress against a schedule. + Knowledge of risk identification and risk management + Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong proficiency in MS Excel + Understanding of a development environment with defined processes. + A high level of initiative with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. + Must be a team player. **Preferred Skills:** + Experience in the telecommunication industry. **Compensation Ranges** Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience.
