Quality Assurance Technician

The Bellevue Milk Plant has an opening for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position is located in Bellevue, Washington. 

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results. Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained. Data Entry, tracking and interpretation. Following QC Hold Procedures for out of specification products. Must possess the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's). Will assist in the discipline to maintain a 6-S rating of an "A". Be flexible in working hours. Equipment calibration and troubleshooting. Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in driving continuous improvement. Report daily with supervisors daily covering issues associated with production. Monitor all CCP records and frequencies. Follow-up customer complaints and correspond with production. Manage product specifications. Maintain policy and implement policies and procedures including training relating to GMP's, Food Safety and regulatory compliance. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment. Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

Four-year college degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field (Desired) or equivalent experience. Knowledge of Microbiological, Physical, Chemical and Organoleptic Testing. Ensure Safeway policies, procedures, and workplace safety requirements are adhered to. Evaluate trends from test results and communicate these trends to employees and management. Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of Safeway quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification. Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Maintain inventory on laboratory supplies. Good oral/written communication skills. Able to multi-task in fast paced environment with limited supervision. Proficient in window-based PC programs. Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance. Knowledge of HACCP/Food Safety. Must follow current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Sanitation Practices, Food Safety and Occupational Safety. Ability to lift 50lbs. Good Time Management and customer service oriented.

 

Pay Range: $24.62 - $32.82 per hour

Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Additional premiums for swing and grave shifts are available. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).
