Here's the Scoop - Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician - 3rd shift is responsible for supporting and implementing Safe Quality Foods standard at Champion Pet foods by developing, implementing, following, and promoting practices and procedures. It is responsible of accurately documenting QA processes and tests, conduct sampling for finished products and support sanitation practices.

What a typical day looks like?

The Quality Assurance Technician third shift will work the 9:00 pm- 05:30 am shiftDeveloping, implementing, following, and promoting practices and procedures regarding product quality and food safety in accordance with the requirements of the SQF guidelinesPerform Pre-op inspectionsPreparation of materials, equipment, and samplesWriting and reviewing SOPs to meet food safety and quality standardsAccurately documenting quality assurance processes and test, sampling or audit resultsResponsibly working under minimal supervisionReviewing records, filing and maintaining records in accordance with GFSI requirementsOnsite and record verification of CCPsConducting fundamental laboratory-based tasks, including sampling and sample shipping to 3rd party lab, testing, measuring, recording, and analyzing resultsPerforming quality control testing in accordance with established laboratory proceduresAssessing the results of quality checks, and for working with other members of the plant.Developing trend analysis, updating tracking spreadsheets,Perform other duties as required or assigned

What we are looking for?

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related scientific fieldCurrent knowledge of food safety (HACCP) programs, GMP programs, and Quality systemsExperience operating in a SQF system, or other GFSI standard systemMinimum 2-3 years related quality assurance work experience in a GFSI standard food production facilityKnowledge of the principles and practices of chemical, biological, and physical testing and analyses.Working knowledge of laboratory techniques, terminology, equipment and materials; ability to use and maintain laboratory equipmentSound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills, as well as effective time management skillsHigh degree of attention to detail and accuracy, a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability, with demonstrated applicable ethics and due diligence qualitiesSelf-directed, capable of multi-tasking, detail-oriented, analytical thinking abilities, and strong problem identification and problem resolution skillsStrong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with diverse individuals/groupsAbility to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanorAbility to interface directly and successfully with cross-functional teamsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteFluent in English, both written and spokenOvertime may be requiredAbility to physically inspect company property and assets, to meet food safety requirements
