Title:  QA Specialist (Sanitation, GMP)

Location: Argo Plant, IL.

Reports To: QA Lead

Workplace Type: Onsite

Ingredion is hiring a QA Specialist who will provide strategic leadership to the Argo Plant, ensuring that all manufacturing processes and finished products consistently comply with GMP and sanitation standards. Oversee plant activities related to cleaning and sanitation to ensure alignment with company policies, plant protocols, and customer-specific requirements.

What you will do:

Leading, managing and coordinating all the activities associated with the plant’s GMP Program, GMP Auditing, Pest Control activities, and Sanitation activities.

Provide plant operations with technical support related to cleaning and sanitation activities.

Manage and report on Sanitation programs including Corrective Actions for non-conformities.

Report status of plant cleaning and sanitation activities to operations. Drive resolution of outstanding issues and assist in root cause investigations.  

Provide leadership to third party Sanitation crew. Work with contractors to maintain and continuously improve cleaning practices. 

Identify and implement processes to improve plant GMP and sanitation.

Manage and continuously improve the master sanitation program

 Provide support to plant operations regarding the requirements for plant sanitation activities and requirements.     

Planning, scheduling, and coordinating plant wide GMP audits and verification audits within the requisite time.

Leading and managing pest control contractors within the plant to ensure the service rendered meets the contractual expectations.  

Reviewing and updating pest and vegetation contractor service agreements incorporating Ingredion and regulatory needs.

Overseeing the communication and resolution of pest control related trends between pest control technicians and the plant.

Supporting the QA unit’s needs by providing all required data, information and participating in customer audits as needed.

Supporting other QA functions including management review, internal audits, label control, and customer audits.

Assisting with development and maintenance of Food Safety and HACCP plans and reviews of the plant.

Working with key personnel to ensure all government, customer and customer expectations are met for food Safety and food quality.

Acting as backup Food Safety Coordinator when required.


What you will bring:

Experience working with different levels of the organization to resolve problems using a risk-based approach, a plus..

Ability to manage and control processes to meet regulatory requirements.

Ability to work with others to maintain system changes, upgrades and managing control documents. 

Ability to provide leadership and guidance to operations and management staff.  Ability to influence without authority.

Who you are:

Bachelor of Science Degree (i.e., Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.).

Experience in a continuous process food manufacturing environment focused on pest control and GMP activities.

Basic understanding of sanitation requirements in a food processing facility

Demonstrated experience managing contractors, preferred.

Experience leading audits, a plus.

Familiarity with, ISO, HACCP, and Food Safety.

Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.

Strong computer skills with proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, flowcharting software and experience with Electronic Documentation Systems a plus.

Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools, a plus.

Pay Range:

$67,520.00-$90,026.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
