About the Position:

The Fresh Market currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist of Produce in Piedmont, SC (099). This role is responsible for inspecting and evaluating the quality of produce entering our distributor’s facility to ensure the product meets The Fresh Market’s standards. 

This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager.

What You'll Do:
Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards.Inspection of all produce coming into the facility.Monitor coolers to ensure product is handled and rotated properly.Ensure produce is shipped timely to the stores to maintain freshness and quality.Communicate concerns to Quality Assurance Manager to coordinate corrective action communication.Provide the Produce Category team with updates on quality levels of produce.Ability to refuse produce at the distributor that does not meet The Fresh Market’s standards.Monitor shipping temperatures to ensure produce arrives to the stores fresh.Authority to refuse product that does not meet TFM’s standards.Interpret quality assurance standards and enforce them.Act as company representative within distributor’s facility.Act as a liaison betweet the distribution hub and TFM Merchandising TeamSupport any and all food safety functions that may be relevent with providing safe produce to our stores.Visit TFM Stores monitoring quality of produce being delivered to the stores.Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

HS Diploma is required.4+ years of produce quality assurance or produce retail experience requiredKnowledge of general operating aspects of the produce businessKnowledge of USDA Standards of produce preferredAbility to work independently with limited supervisionProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelAble to interpret a variety of instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to travel within assigned territory and to the Store Support Center (099) including occasional over nights (Travel required: 40%)
