Quality Assurance Nurse Manager
Exempt Salary Range: $67.19/h - $92.62/h Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity. Position Summary: + Reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. + Responsible for driving and managing quality performance strategy within the organization. + Coordinates activities that support all aspects of quality assurance organization wide. + Works to lead quality improvement initiatives, oversee regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of patient safety. + Knowledge of Title 22, CMS, CDPH, and CIHQ regulatory guidelines and standards. + Works with other directors and all hospital departments and staff to assure coordinated approaches to quality patient care. + Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. + Remains flexible to changing systems. + Treats patients, families, visitors, peers and physicians with consideration and respect. + Works well under stress or with tight deadlines. + Documents all cases of misconduct and intervenes as appropriate. + Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. + Communicates concerns appropriately using the established chain of command. + Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients, family members and visitors. Position Duties/Responsibility: + Oversee the implementation of quality assurance and infection control processes and standards across the organization. + Monitor and evaluate the performance of products, services, or processes against quality standards. + Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality control systems and procedures. + Perform regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards. + Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall quality. + Provide training and support to staff to foster a quality-conscious culture. + Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and compliance, to integrate risk management and quality improvement processes. + Provide expertise and guidance on risk and quality matters to support decision-making at all levels of the organization. + Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of risk and quality best practices. + Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care. + Other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: + Knowledge of clinical policies and procedures. + Knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology. + Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. + Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, physicians, other members of the healthcare team, etc. + Ability to adapt to varied, age-specific and/or specialized groups. + Ability to understand use, function, interpret, document, and keep records. + Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. + Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. + Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. + Ability to organize and prioritize work. + Ability to follow oral and written instructions. + Ability to reason and make sound judgments. + Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. + Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, management, patients, medical staff, and the public. + Skill in accepting constructive criticism and giving suggestions in a professional manner. Position Qualifications: + Education: Current California license as an RN required. Bachelor (BSN) or Master’s of Science degree (MSN) preferred. + Experience: Proven experience in healthcare quality assurance, 3+ years in quality improvement role preferred.Strong understanding of quality standards, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with different teams and stakeholders. Experience with performance management tools and software is ideal. Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement. + Cert/License: Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, or Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
