Quality Assurance Manager

The Quality Manager will lead Weavergate Plant Quality Organization and will be responsible for the Plant Quality and Hygiene, including Complaints Management and control of the plant ISO standards. Responsibility for day-to-day quality compliance of the production activities and quality continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager this role will be part of the plant management team and take the lead in all quality activities, ensuring that they meet compliance, Ecolab quality targets and ISO standard requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

Training, supporting and motivating production teams to ensure quality and HACCP compliance.

Management and daily governance of the site quality management system (QMS).

Management of site QC activities, ensuring their completion in-line with specifications, SOPs and audit requirements.

Co-operation with site teams to achieve continuous improvement (CI) targets and act as plant PQ pillar lead.

Investigation of both internal and external quality complaints, liaising with regional quality and associated functions as well as suppliers.

Reporting and investigation of quality deviations - delivery of corrective action to regain compliance.

Promote raising quality alerts and ensure they are investigated and closed.

Responsible for approval and non-approval of quality for incoming goods, intermediate and finished goods or new product introductions.

Lead plant quality assurance, site audits, ISO activities.

Manage the internal audit program and ensure timely closure of actions.

Management and control of site laboratory, lab technician and cost control.

Ensure product and process changes are managed methodologically and in compliance with standards and regulations.

Show initiative and ability in problem solving and identifying improvements related to quality.

MIN set up in nSAP, recipe and testing specification.

Qualifications:

Preferred Degree in Chemistry, Food Science or related field with Chemistry component or extensive experience from a laboratory background or a related field.

Great knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel / Word.

Demonstrated experience in manufacturing quality processes in chemicals, food or FMCG.

Demonstrated experience in Integrated Management Systems (IMS).

Knowledge of quality systems ISO9001, HACCP, GMP.

Strong team player with ability to lead and motivate the full site team.

Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated and disciplined. Strong communication skills.

Knowledge of principles of quality assurance and quality control.

Awareness of Lean Manufacturing techniques and methodology (TPM) and PQ pillar.

Ability to represent themselves and information at senior management level on monthly regional meetings.

Experience in process validation, new product introduction and insourcing.

Experience of Ecolab systems EPIC, eSprint and GTT process.

3+ years people management experience.
