Apply now and join a community that improves people’s lives, the planet and our company’s performance by transforming renewable resources into products people depend on every day. **Position Title** **:** Quality Assurance Manager **Pay Rate** : $108,200 - $144,300 **Category/Shift** : Full-Time **Physical Location** : Mansfield Mill 1202 Hwy 509 Mansfield, LA 71052 **The Job You Will Perform:** The Quality Assurance Manager at Mansfield Mill is responsible for overseeing all aspects of product quality, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers. This role serves as a key liaison between Mansfield Mill personnel, IP Customer Technical Service (CTS), and strategic customers to address complaints and inquiries, discover root causes, and implement effective solutions. The manager leads the Quality/Environmental Lab, supervising fourteen employees and ensuring compliance with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include managing laboratory operations for chemical and physical testing, coordinating quality trials, maintaining lab equipment reliability, and administering the mill’s Proficy system. The role also involves collaborating with the Finished Products (FP) team, analyzing quality data, reporting metrics, and providing strategic direction to support product strategy and customer satisfaction. The position reports to the Mill Manager. Essential Responsibilities: + Oversee Main Lab testing (e.g., BOD, kappa tests, fiber, soda loss, sewer pH, raw materials). + Supervise Dry End Labs operations, ensuring accurate paper testing and data recording. + Act as primary contact for customer complaints, concerns, and field issues; interface with CTS managers. + Administer mill’s Proficy system and coordinate in-mill trials; monitor roll stock quality. + Collaborate closely with Finished Products team to manage trial work, evaluate non A-1 roll stock, and guide issue resolution. + Generate monthly complaint and credit statistics; prepare end-of-month quality reports. + Perform quarterly 1-on-1 evaluations; manage lab budget and ensure equipment reliability and accuracy. **The Skills You Will Bring:** + Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the paper industry + At least 1 year of previous supervisory experience preferred + Preferred experience in one or more of the following: + Paper machine operations + Customer service + Process Engineering **Key Competencies:** + Functional/Technical Skills + Action Orientation + Customer Focus + Problem Solving + Managerial Courage + Timely Decision Making + Informing + Safety Leadership **The Benefits You Will Enjoy:** + Paid time off including Vacation and Holidays + Retirement, pension, and 401k Matching Program + Medical & Dental + Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement) + Life & Disability Insurance **The Career You Will Build:** + Leadership training + Promotional opportunities **The Impact You Will Make:** We continue to build a better future for people, the plant, and our company!
