Responsible for the Quality Control Laboratory activities, assuring that the products are being manufactured in accordance with the quality standards adopted by the company and/or required by Law. Conducts several test types (chemical, physical, etc.) on the raw materials and the final products to assure they follow the specifications. Prepare formal written procedures for quality assurance. May provide training on quality control process.Summary/Objective
The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for establishing a quality assurance system to assure that all products manufactured by the organization meet customer/company specifications, achieve superior quality and reliability levels, and that positively impacts the financial performance of Graver Technologies. Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Quality Management System (QMS).
Essential Functions:
The person in this position performs a variety of Quality Assurance Manager functions and is responsible for:
Develops and implements a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards. Interacts with operations, customer service, commercial and shipping teams to support customer quality requirements.Educates and trains employees as to their impact in the quality management system.Serves as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement.Drives vendor quality performance. Develops and oversees the approved suppliers list, including ensuring that new suppliers are updated on approved suppliers list.Ensures compliance with Quality and Regulatory requirements and certifications. Prepares for and represents the company during all ISO, NUPIC and customer audits. Manages compliance for NSF, REACH and other product certifications and regulations.Assists in coordinating and approving all document changes related to new products and engineering changes to ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.Partners with Quality Control to ensure that the calibration program is up to date.Manages customer complaints by working with customer service and commercial teams to understand complaints and take appropriate corrective actions.Manages corrective action program, to prevent re-occurrences of quality defects in the manufacturing process. This includes performing root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.Designs, implements and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection and revises or creates new SOPs as needed.Establishes and implements metrics for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions.All other reasonable duties as assigned.Competencies/Job Requirements:

Education:
College degree in quality control, engineering, science, statistics, business administration, or relevant field. ASQ (or similar) certification a plus.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in QA systems implementation and management, with experience in a medium-size manufacturing environment. Familiarity with FDA, GMP, ANSI, ISO and ASTM quality standards is a strongly preferred.
