LOCATION: Bedford Park, IL (Argo Plant)
REPORTS TO: Senior QA/QC Manager
The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for providing Quality Leadership to the manufacturing, packaging, and materials management processes to comply with regulatory standards and meet quality objectives. The QA Manager leads regulatory and customer audits, maintains compliance, and maintains batch record review. This role provides QA leadership, support process improvements, and facilitates timely resolution of quality issues at the site to ensure products and critical manufacturing supplies meet all applicable government, customer, and company expectations for quality and safety.
What you will do:
Quality Assurance Oversight. Lead the establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of QA processes across manufacturing, packaging, and materials management. Ensure compliance throughout all development and commercial phases.
Risk Management & Compliance. Assess and mitigate quality risks related to processes, materials, and equipment. Oversee investigations of deviations, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results. Monitor compliance trends and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Development. Supervise and support the QA team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback. Foster a strong quality culture through awareness, engagement, and professional development.
Regulatory & Customer Interface. Act as the site representative for regulatory submissions (DMF, ASMF), lead audits, and ensure alignment with customer requirements. Maintain documentation and ensure operations comply with regulatory expectations.
Operational Support & Batch Release. Manage batch release activities, including executed batch record reviews. Own and maintain the Validation Master Plan (VMP), and ensure validation activities (e.g., process and cleaning validation) are properly executed.
Strategic Quality Planning. Collaborate with site leadership to define and achieve quality objectives. Support strategic planning by aligning QA goals with broader business needs and ensuring the site remains in a state of compliance.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Initiatives. Drive continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, focusing on enhancing cycle time, productivity, and quality. Provide quality guidance to resolve issues efficiently and support business operations.
What you will bring:
Experience with Food, API’s and Excipients manufacture
Experience leading a Quality or Manufacturing Team in in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous
Demonstrated application of Quality and Regulatory concepts, technical principles, and judgment to address a broad range of difficult projects/problems.
Ability to perform effectively in high stress situations. Demonstrated ability to train, coach to timelines to improve performance.
Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships.
Ability to learn and apply Ingredion’s Safety, GMP, Quality and Continuous Improvement standards.
Who you are:
Strong experience in the Quality Management System elements (e.g., Change Control, Deviation, Batch Record Review, Regulatory Submissions, Complaints, Supplier Qualification, Document Control etc.)
Strong experience with Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient Manufacturing
Solid understanding and application of FDA 21 CFR 11, 210 & 211, and ICH Q7
Experience in identifying stakeholders and working cross-functionally to resolve quality issues
Analytical thinking, problem solving and negotiation skills
High level of flexibility and willingness to change priorities as quality issues arise
Excellent organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to work in a high paced, timeline driven corporate office setting
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a Life Science or Engineering discipline
Required: Eight (8) years of experience in quality assurance
Preferred: Five (5) years of experience in quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry

$98,800.00-$131,733.33 AnnualThis pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
