Job Description
The Quality Assurance Lab Technician will play a vital role in ensuring that all incoming ingredients and packaging materials meet product specifications. This position involves submitting ingredient samples for authenticity and pesticide analysis, auditing blending operations, and maintaining QA record keeping. The role also includes monitoring production processes for compliance with HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and SOPs, as well as performing microbiological plating and equipment calibration tasks.
ResponsibilitiesInspect incoming ingredients and packaging materials for conformance to product specifications.Submit ingredient samples from current and new suppliers to approved labs for authenticity and pesticide analysis.Audit blending operation for conformance to process and packaging specifications.Audit production for conformance to process and package specifications.Maintain QA record keeping, filing system, and housekeeping programs in the QA areas.Perform microbiological plating functions.Monitor all aspects of production for compliance with HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and SOPs.Verify the calibration and/or calibrate laboratory and operational equipment.Essential SkillsExperience in manufacturing and quality assurance.Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SQF, and SOPs.Experience in food and beverage production.Ability to perform quality control and assurance tasks.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of good manufacturing processes.Food and beverage production experience preferred.Degree preferred but not required.Work Environment
This position is based in a 24/7 manufacturing environment where juices are produced for schools, hospitals, and retail chains. The role requires working in a manufacturing quality laboratory with a heavy workload, including 5-6 days a week with 12-hour shifts and mandatory overtime.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
