Job Description Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector supports and takes direction from QA Manager and uses the proven techniques for quality inspection. The Quality Assurance Inspector evaluates hardware documentation, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data, and prepares formal reports.
Responsibilities
• Plan and perform final, in-process and first article inspection of parts/material per AS9102
• Inspection may include the maneuvering and of lifting heavy or awkward items
• Select and print appropriate test reports, certifications, and bar code labels, which include the generation of test reports to each specific purchase order. Generate test reports, labels, and certifications
• Ability to create & complete nonconformance reports
• Work with QA Manager or designee to perform internal audits on quality systems and procedures
• Contribute (or Lead) internal auditing teams and manage corrective actions/timelines
• Review data packs for accuracy and release shipments
• Collaborates and supports continuous improvements that increase organizational clarity and process improvement
• Train operations personnel to facilitate improving defect recognition
Requirements
Education, Skills and Certifications
• 5+ years' experience in an Aerospace quality system environment that includes basic understanding of engineering drawings and interpret material and process specifications
• Ability to properly select and use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.
• Ability to navigate CATIA files (using Enovia or equivalent) for the purpose of Inspection preparation and execution, including the FAI process.
• Basic math skills and computer software proficiency (i.e., Visual, Excel, Word)
• Organizational and communication skills
• High School diploma or GED
• Organizational skills; accurate data collection, storage and retrieval
• Clear understanding of material identification, control and traceability
• Ability to identify, define and describe non-conformances or defects
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in manufacturing of parts for aerospace or defense
• ASQ certification or a willingness to obtain certification if hired full-time
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
+ Sitting, standing and walking 8 hours per day in manufacturing plant and QA lab
+ Ability to occasionally lift up to 50#, 30# frequently, and 5-20# consistently, while inspecting parts.
+ Finger dexterity - the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or inspect very small objects
+ Arm-hand steadiness - the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
+ Ability to lift above the waist and shoulder, while performing inspections on parts
+ Ability to work with or around chemical solvents in manufacturing environment

*****PAY STARTS BETWEEN $25.00 - 35.00/hr PLUS BONUS - DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE****
