Leidos’ Civil Group Mission Assurance team currently has an opening for a Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector in the Webster, Texas office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). From hardware and experiments to toothpaste and food, the International Space Station (ISS) crew requires a steady stream of supplies via NASA’s Cargo Mission Contract. Leidos plans, processes, and packs critical cargo to keep the orbiting outpost fully stocked.
As a QA Inspector, you will apply quality evaluation methods and protocols for processing/fabricating finished products. The role requires collaboration with project engineering to ensure quality standards are in place and met; including implementing methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products and hardware equipment deliverables.
The position entails inspection of design and analysis of testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducting quality assurance tests; and performing statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for non-conforming products and materials which do not meet standards/specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical engineering support and perform steps via work authorizing documentsPerform work pertaining to laptops, printers, audio visual equipment, electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipmentPerform cable and electronic component fabrication utilizing NASA recognized workmanship standards (soldering, harness and cable, staking/conformal coating, etc.)Support multiple projects, prioritize, and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlinesGeneral Lab cleanup and maintenanceEmployees are expected to routinely lift up to 35lbs without the assistance of mechanical aids.Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent, and 10 year’s related experienceStrong understanding of how to read and implement requirements from engineering drawings and work ordersFamiliarity with the engineering drawings processFamiliarity with tool calibrationPreferred Qualifications:
Perform cable and electronic component fabrication utilizing NASA recognized workmanship standards (NASA 8739.1, NASA 8739.4, IPC-J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620)PWB population using various soldering techniques (through hole and surface mount)Electronics troubleshootingWorking understanding of Maximo Inventory Management System or similar task order systemCome break things (in a good way). Then build them smarter.
