Job Description

Expeditors' Ground Network Services (GNS) and Transcon team is streamlining the way our freight moves across the globe.  We are responsible for providing accurate and timely information within the network by building tools, technologies and implementing processes that allow our users to manage freight movement. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team!

Our Quality Assurance Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools.  They are grey box testers who understand software internals, can debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with end-user level automated tools like Cucumber/JUnit/TestNG. 

The new Quality Assurance engineer will be a part of a software feature development team consisting of a product owner, business analyst, configuration engineer, developers, scrum master, and another quality assurance engineer. This team's goal is supporting the migration from a Legacy system into a more robust, efficient, and highly configurable platform.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Build, refine, and prioritize automated and manual test suites in alignment with program vision and roadmapCreate strategies to identify, replicate, and test defects across multiple applications and code basesTest and validate changes to target applicationsCoordinate quality assurance activities across multiple teamsWork with engineering teams during development to establish proper test coverageDrive improvements pertaining to project requirements and application designVerify new build functionality and quality before releasing to end-usersReproduce reported bugs and demo to engineering teamsReview log files to determine if an application is behaving as designed

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Computer Science or comparable work3+ years of software testing experienceBackground in automation using Cucumber, Java, or other applicable languagesStrong knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies and toolsAbility to understand technical specifications and analyze log filesProven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of peopleEffective at navigating ambiguity and helping diverse teams drive towards clarity and consensusExcellent time management and organization skillsOutstanding verbal and written communicationAbility to recognize and mitigate risksDriven, strong 'get it done' attitude

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Agile/IT leadership experienceProven expertise in designing and implementing Continuous Delivery pipelinesExperience working in freight forwarding or other transportation industry rolesExperience working and coordinating with geographically diverse teamsAlignment with Expeditors' culture and a total commitment to customer satisfactionExperience with software development and shipping products for internal and external usersWorking knowledge of Office 2013 or above, ADO/VSTS, SharePointITIL familiarity and/or certificationSAFe familiarity and/or certification

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $80,000 to $115,000
