Who we are
By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years’ timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.
This purposeful project will not only give you the opportunity to have an impact on one of the key topics within the European Union, it will also offer you various professional opportunities, let you experience a collaborative environment, using cutting-edge technologies and experiencing diversity in your everyday professional life.
What you’ll be doing
Continuously assess and enhance existing processes to optimise efficiency and effectivenessCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and monitor the impact on overall qualityIdentify potential risks and vulnerabilities in IT processes and systemsDevelop risk mitigation strategies and work with project teams to integrate risk management into the project life cycleDefine/Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to measure the success of IT projectsGenerate regular reports for management, highlighting quality trends, issues, and improvement opportunitiesConduct regular audits to ensure compliance with TAXUD policies, EC/industry standards, and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with internal and external auditors to address findings and implement corrective actionsDevelop and deliver training programs to enhance the awareness of quality standards and best practices among IT teamsFoster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organisationEvaluate and monitor the quality of deliverables from other service providers
What You’ll Bring Along
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related fieldMinimum 10 years of experience in a similar roleDeep understanding of business needs and expectationsWorked into complex infrastructure projects, that required operational and processes knowhow in the area of: cloud migration&extension, infrastructure maintainance, support or extension, cybersecurityRequired infrastructure techology & processes overview know-howProven experience in quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools.Certification in quality management (e.g. Six Sigma)Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive quality initiatives within project timelinesAnalytical and problem-solving skillsExceptional analytical skills to identify and address quality issuesAbility to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisionsExcellent communication skills to articulate quality requirements and issues to technical and non-technical stakeholdersCollaborative approach to work effectively with diverse teamsFamiliarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in IT (e.g., ISO 9001, CMMI, GDPR)Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologiesMeticulous attention to detail to ensure the highest standards of quality in IT deliverablesLeadership skills to inspire and guide a team toward achieving quality objectivesAbility to adapt to changing priorities, work under pressure, and navigate through ambiguityExcellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
