Job Description
Join our team as a Quality Analyst I, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. You will be responsible for collecting and testing samples, conducting quality checks, and maintaining lab equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work in a close-knit team environment with room for growth.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.Conduct tests including pH, viscosity, titrations, product color via colorimeter, density, acid, salt, and sensory evaluations of product taste, aroma, and appearance against control samples.Perform quality checks on the production floor, verifying the accuracy of unit codes and case codes, proper application of labels, and conducting metal detector checks.Monitor processes to ensure consistent and correct operations.Document all results neatly and precisely.Label and maintain product retention samples for monitoring throughout the established shelf life.Organize collected data for management review.Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.Monitor the plant for compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development.Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.Essential SkillsProficiency in wet chemistry.Experience in quality control and quality assurance.Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Additional Skills & QualificationsAn Associate or Bachelor's degree in Science, or equivalent experience with at least one year of wet chemistry lab work.Work Environment
The lab environment is loud with strong food smells, fostering a team-oriented and family-like culture. You will work alongside a few other technicians in a small lab and report to the supervisor. The dress code is casual, typically a t-shirt and jeans, with a lab coat provided upon hiring. Jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar items are not permitted.

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
