Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager

TRIGO is currently recruiting for a Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager to support our Heavy Transportation division. This role is based out of the Peoria, Illinois office with travel to facilities and meetings as necessary. The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year.\n

Overall Purpose\n

The Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes that ensure:\n\nCustomer satisfaction\nWorkforce safety\nCompliance with quality and safety standards\n\n

The ideal candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness across the organization and work closely with internal and external customers. Periodic attendance at company audits, companywide meetings, and customer meetings is required.\n

Direct: General Manager \n

Responsibilities\n

 \n\nInterface with customers and operations to address service quality needs and process design\/revisions.\nSupport management in establishing and reviewing objectives and KPIs aligned with business strategy.\nRecommend and assist management in driving quality initiatives, process improvements, and cost reductions (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality).\nAssist operations and customers with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.\nConduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with the parent company.\nSupport the investigation, documentation and resolution of safety incidents. \nAnalyze Health & Safety data; prepare for and chair the Health & Safety Committee meetings.\nCollaborate with the Health & Safety Committee to maintain OSHA- and customer-compliant policies and procedures.\nServe as the primary liaison between the subsidiary and the parent company on all QHS matters.\nMaintain and control Management System documentation.\nCreate, update and organize safety and quality training programs.\nSupport the Business Solutions team in the creation and maintenance of digital tools.\nLead initiatives to maintain ISO 9001 certification and pursue additional certifications as needed.\nPromote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\nDrive Management System alignment efforts between the subsidiary and the parent company. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\n

Job Skills & Competencies \n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint) and Power Automate\nMid-level knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF16949, or related standards.\nBasic knowledge of OSHA regulations.\nStrong knowledge of 6S, 8D, and 5 Whys methodologies.\nProfessional certifications such as ASQ, ISO Lead Auditor, or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.\nProficiency in quality system management and documentation control.\nCompetency in data collection, reporting, and analysis.\nExperience with Lean Enterprise, project mapping, auditing, and systematic problem solving.\nExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience dealing with multiple sites, including Customer-embedded operations.\n\n

Education background\n\n\n\n\n\nBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field preferred.\n\n

 \n\n\n\n3+ years of experience in a QHS or EHS role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.\n\n\n\n\n\n
