Are you a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker with a passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities? We’re looking for an experienced practitioner to join a forward-thinking and supportive Adults Learning Disabilities Team in West Yorkshire.

🧠 About the Role
As a Qualified Social Worker, you’ll be working with adults with learning disabilities to promote independence, improve quality of life, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
You will:
Carry out strengths-based Care Act assessmentsDevelop and review person-centred support plansApply knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding Adults proceduresWork closely with families, carers, health professionals, and other agenciesPromote independence, inclusion, and dignityEnsure positive, long-term outcomes through evidence-based practice
✅ What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and experienced professional who brings empathy, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high-quality social work.
You must have:
A degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)Registration with Social Work EnglandA minimum of 2 years post-qualified experience, ideally in adult servicesExperience working with adults with learning disabilities or complex needsStrong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworksThe ability to build meaningful relationships with individuals, families, and multi-disciplinary teamsExcellent communication, assessment, and care planning skillsA reflective, flexible, and person-centred approach to practice
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Conduct person-centred assessments and support planningManage a varied caseload and maintain accurate recordsUndertake safeguarding enquiries where necessaryPromote independence and community engagementOffer advice and guidance to service users, carers, and colleaguesSupport the professional development of junior staff and students (where required)
