Qualifications Engineer

As Equipment Qualification Engineer you will assume a challenging role as part of the Qualification Team in our Engineering Group. You will have the opportunity to work with advanced power plant designs including Generation IV nuclear power plants, as well as existing power plants with decades of experience, both domestic and international. In this role, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks including analytic studies & calculations, design and implementation of tests, post processing and interpretation of test results, and report creation. You will be supporting internal teams at the proposal stage, during pre-production, as well as post-sale, regarding technical and regulatory compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Location: Brea, CA

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Your Challenge:

Developing innovative solutions based on internal or external customer specification requirements.Develops and revises equipment qualification plans, procedures, and reports, in accordance with industry and regulatory requirements.Uses analytical methods and engineering judgment to prepare technical justifications.Read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.Designing tests, witnessing tests, and providing technical guidance to test technicians, both on-site and at vendor facilities.Post process qualification test results and create qualification reports in compliance with industry standards.Interface and collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to support equipment qualification needs.Supports qualification efforts by witnessing testing and providing technical guidance to test technicians, both on-site and at vendor facilities.

Your Expertise:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Strong analytical skills.2-5 years of experience in relevant areas of mechanical engineering, preferably operating in a highly regulated industry.Experience working in a testing environment is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Familiar with and proficient in Microsoft office environment including Word & Excel.EIT or PE certification is a plus. Ability to develop strong and trustworthy relationships with business partners.
