We’re proud to be delivering the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), and we’re looking for the best people to help make it happen. 

QTMP involves the design, manufacture and maintenance of 65 new six-car passenger trains to support Cross River Rail and the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games. These trains will be built at a new, purpose-built facility in Torbanlea on the Fraser Coast.

The role at a glance

In this role, you will play a vital part in the electrical assembly, testing, and commissioning of next-generation railcars.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform wire cutting, labelling, crimping, and termination to precise specificationsInstall electrical looms and components in accordance with engineering drawings and work instructionsConduct electrical testing, measurement, and fault finding to ensure system integrity and performanceWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet production and quality targets

 

About you 

Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician or EquivalentKnowledge of electrical rollingstock systems, manufacturing processes, and specialised equipment, from production to electrical testing and commissioning is an advantageThe ability to dismantle, repair, replace, assemble, and fit engineering componentsSkilled in precision electrical and electronic measurementExperience in terminating and connecting electrical wiring, including electrical crimpingExposure and experience in fault findingGood communication skillsAttention to detail. Excellent time management and forward-thinkingAbility to influence, motivate and contribute to continuous improvement.Continuing commitment to a Zero Harm workplace
