QEHS Excellence Manager
Job Description

At the Plate Heat Exchanger business unit, we design and manufacture high-performance brazed and gasketed plate heat exchangers, delivering efficient thermal solutions for HVAC, industrial, marine, and energy applications worldwide

 

We are looking for a proactive QEHS Excellence Manager that will drive improvements in collaboration with our site leaders. This role is pivotal in setting quality standards, global strategies, driving safety plans and supporting key manufacturing processes in collaboration with local operations within our PHEX sites. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement is key, therefore the ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert across specialized quality processes and industry standards, coaching QEHS teams while ensuring compliance with global certification requirements.

 

The position reports to the Head of QEHS and Manufacturing Excellence, with an expectation to be based within Eastern Europe.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

Set and enhance standards within the Quality Management System (QMS) across all business areas. Develop expertise and lead initiatives in specialized processes such as brazing, leak testing, and pressing. Driving projects while developing our team with industry tools and methodologies: Six Sigma, VDA, Poka Yoke, Project Management, and Lean Manufacturing. Maintain full ownership of the QMS, ensuring successful execution of internal audits, management of ISO certifications, alignment with auditor requirements, and adherence to Danfoss’ standards. Drive and coordinate quality processes across Supplier Quality, Line Quality, and Customer Quality domains. Support the development and implementation of quality and EHS improvement plans across the organization. Act as a coach and mentor to QEHS managers, promoting a high-performing and collaborative quality culture. Serve as an internal expert on site certifications, including but not limited to ASME, PED, Marine, and ISO standards. Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering. 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Extensive experience with QMS, quality tools, and industry certifications (e.g. ISO, IATF,PED, VDA). Experience with quality in special processes and tools (e.g. brazing, leak testing, metal pressing, six sigma). Ability to drive change and implement process improvements. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Certified auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and familiarity with ASME, PED, and Marine certification schemes and compliance audits. Strong written and verbal communication in English; additional languages are a plus. Able to communicate clearly with internal auditors, third-party certification bodies, and international stakeholders.
