What You'll Do Performs computer system-based calibration procedures to assure gage specification accuracy and compliance to national and international standards associated with the calibration and control of measuring and test equipment. Performs manual calibration procedures to assure gage specification accuracy and compliance with applicable DOE, national, and international standards. Records test data for all calibrated equipment as required. Reports defects observed during completion of calibration procedures. Assists in the development of automated and/or manual calibration/test procedures. Sets up and operate standard and specialized machine shop tools and equipment, both manual and CNC controlled. Fabricates, reworks, and/or repairs jigs, fixtures, gages, tools, and components by reading and comprehending complex blueprints. Performs one-of-a-kind or repetitive tasks involving machining, assembly, finishing, and grinding of various products to close tolerances. Must be able to check dimensional requirements and specifications using hand tools, gages, functional gages, and other prescribed measuring equipment. May be required to work in Radiological Controlled Areas and/or Beryllium Areas Preferred Job Requirements Must be a motivated individual and able to work independently. Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
