Lead Welder / QC Inspector (NDT)
Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 3 PM
Compensation: $27 - $29 per hour. Excellent benefits package.
Lead Welder / QC Inspector (NDT) Responsibilities: Conduct visual and physical inspections of fabricated structural steel components Quality Control of the layout, assembly and installation; ensuring it is maintained to the utmost standard of AISC and AWS certifications Perform Weld Inspections Perform NDT Inspections and interpret results Perform general dimensional inspections and first article inspections on cut parts and machine parts Create and fill out general inspection reports Qualify Welders by conducting welding tests and evaluating performance Monitor welding activities to ensure proper procedures are followed Perform inspections on received raw materials Help management to achieve and maintain AISC audit readiness Assist in creating and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for operational processes Ensure the identification and traceability of all finished goods in the yard Collaborate with engineering teams to guarantee adherence to customer quality specifications Complete special projects as directed by the Corporate Quality and Service Engineer and carry out any additional duties as assigned
Lead Welder / QC Inspector (NDT) Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent is required American Welding Society (AWS) or Certified Weld Inspector certification (preferred). ASNT NDT Level II certification in VT, MT, PT (preferred, not required) Ability to speak, read and write grammatically correct English Excellent interpersonal skills with a knack for building positive relationships with customers and vendors Basic mathematical skills and proficiency in using measurement tools such as tape measures and calipers. Good computer skills are needed Background in steel manufacturing is needed Proficient at reading engineering drawings, plans and blueprints Ability to interpret and explain codes, standards and other quality control requirements AISC and Structural Steel experience is a plus CAD/Drafting experience (preferred) Interested, experienced candidates are encouraged to call or text Chad during business hours for more information or to ask questions.
