Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Quality Control (QC) Technician role include **monitoring and testing products, maintaining detailed documentation, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. This position is an integral part of the Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) team, focusing on various tasks to uphold the highest quality products.
Perform routine quality checks on finished products, including X-Ray Line Challenge tests to detect foreign contaminants and physical inspections of packaging materials.
Collect and analyze samples of ingredients and products according to established QA procedures, ensuring all results fall within specified ranges.
Manage and maintain accurate documentation, including completing detailed paperwork, entering test results into a computer system, and preparing reports.
Handle out-of-specification products by logging them and placing them on hold, and assist with the overall Hold Program as needed.
Maintain retention sample and temperature logs to ensure continuous quality control and compliance.
Communicate effectively with team members and technical services to troubleshoot equipment issues and report any food safety or quality concerns to management.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
QC Experience: At least 6 months to 2 years of prior experience in a production or manufacturing quality control role, or as a lab technician.
Computer Literacy: Proficiency with computers and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, to accurately enter data and prepare reports.
Equipment Operation: The ability to collect and analyze samples, perform inspections, and communicate/troubleshoot with X-Ray and other technical equipment.
Documentation: A high level of accuracy and detail when completing paperwork, maintaining logs (e.g., Temperature, Retention Sample), and entering data into a computer.
Language Skills: The ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English is required, with the additional preferred ability to communicate in Spanish. ----
