Reporting to the Quality Manager, the QC Technician / Weld Inspector is primarily responsible for gathering and analyzing data to support the business, proposed projects, and system requirements. Identify testing scope and implementation plans using defined QA processes and methodologies on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limitsTroubleshoot print and bill of materials problems in cooperation with Engineering and production staffRecommend methods of assembly, welding, and productionPerform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part, finished material, and products, ensuring conformance to specificationsTest finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit and appearancePerform standard inspection tests including weld testing UT, PT and VT testing is a plusRoute product for re-workComplete all required records and paperwork including, but not limited to, inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work ordersProcess purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is receivedEnsure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportationAnalyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standardCommunicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and qualityRecommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capabilityMake recommendations regarding safe working methodsFollow all clean-up and housekeeping proceduresComply with all safety and sanitation regulationsOther duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalentStrong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and job shop operationsFamiliarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)CMM / PCDMIS / Romer Arm Operations or knowledge is a plus. Ability to inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality compliance.Ability to perform well in a team environment.Self-motivator and must be flexible to accommodate the needs of your team.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents such as blueprints, routings, work orders, engineering specifications and safety regulations.Ability to complete routine ISIR reports and documentation.Ability to effectively present information to engineering and other employees of the organization.
