Job Title: Quality Control Microbiologist Job Description As a Quality Control Microbiologist, you will perform a variety of tests and procedures to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials, in-process and final products, as well as validation-related and critical utility samples. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. Responsibilities + Perform testing of raw materials, in-process, and final products for various attributes such as bioburden, microbial enumeration, objectionable organism, bacterial endotoxin, sterility, biological indicator, total organic carbon, and nitrate testing. + Conduct plate reads from environmental monitoring and media fills. + Carry out growth promotion and sterility assurance testing on incoming materials. + Perform microbial identification and gram staining. + Autoclave materials needed for testing. + Clean biological safety cabinets (BSCs) and chambers on a periodic basis. + Enter results into electronic systems such as the Laboratory Execution System (LES) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Essential Skills + Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including aseptic techniques and working in a cleanroom environment. + Experience with pharmaceutical and microbiological testing, including bioburden and endotoxin testing. + Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality control procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Understanding of USP/BP/JP and EP guidelines and change processes. + Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. + Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed. + Relevant experience in a GMP setting and a bachelor's degree in a related field. Work Environment This position is based 100% on-site in a laboratory setting. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday during the first shift, but flexibility to work nights and weekends is required to manage sample processing. The role requires adaptability to changes and a willingness to engage in a dynamic work environment. Job Type & Location This is a long term contract position with one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in the area. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
