QC Engineer
Follows established procedures and guidelines to perform routine procedures to test the quality of the organisation’s materials, products, and processes. Contributes to the planning and definition of quality standards, recommending modifications in product or process.

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring product quality, compliance with relevant regulations and customer requirements, and continuously improving quality control processes. This role mainly focuses on product quality testing, non-conformance management, and supporting manufacturing quality control. In addition, the QC Engineer will assist in IQC (Incoming Quality Control) and OQC (Outgoing Quality Control) processes, and provide technical support to relevant teams.
 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

a)    Non-Conformance Management

•    Support the handling of non-conforming products (NCR), ensuring proper identification, segregation, root cause analysis, and disposition.
•    Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve quality issues and reduce recurrence.
•    Work with production and relevant departments to ensure the smooth progress of quality control processes.

b)    Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Support

•    Assist in establishing and maintaining the supplier quality assessment system, ensuring that purchased materials meet the required quality standards.
•    Support the optimization of incoming material inspection processes, promptly addressing any quality issues related to incoming materials.

c)    Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) Support

•    Assist in the final quality control of finished products before shipment, ensuring compliance with company and customer quality standards.
•    Provide technical support to ensure that product packaging, labeling, and other requirements meet relevant standards.
•    Coordinate and follow up on customer complaints, driving continuous improvements in product quality and ensuring compliance with delivery quality requirements.

d)    Third-party Sample Testing

•    Organize and coordinate third-party laboratories for sample testing to ensure external testing meets quality standards.
•    Prepare and submit samples to external testing agencies as required by product specifications and customer demands.
•    Track the progress of third-party testing, obtain testing reports in a timely manner, and collaborate with relevant departments to analyze the results.
•    Coordinate communication between external testing agencies and internal teams to ensure the smooth progress of sample testing.
•    Based on third-party test reports, provide suggestions for further quality improvements to ensure the product meets customer requirements.

e)    Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

•    Identify opportunities for improvement in laboratory performance, efficiency, and cost reduction, and assist in driving continuous improvement.
•    Participate in problem-solving initiatives using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Lean/CI methodologies.
•    Support correlation testing with overseas teams and customers, assisting in the resolution of quality issues.

f)    Cross-departmental Coordination & Support

•    Coordinate communication with suppliers and customers to ensure that product quality meets the needs of all parties, assisting in the resolution of quality issues.
•    Participate in the analysis and resolution process of quality problems, providing on-site technical support for manufacturing and product development.
•    Coordinate communication and cooperation between various departments to ensure the smooth progress of the quality control process.

g)    Team Support & Collaboration

•    Coach and train QC team members to ensure they understand and follow best practices for quality control.
•    Assist the QC & Lab Supervisor in guiding QC inspectors and ensuring effective execution of quality control tasks.
•    Participate in training and sharing quality knowledge within the team, driving the improvement of team quality awareness and technical capabilities.
•    Ensure good cooperation with other departments such as production, R&D, and supply chain to resolve product quality issues promptly.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Bachelor's degree or above in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
•    Relevant working experience in quality control or manufacturing quality management.
•    Familiar with daily quality control operations, including inspection and testing.
•    Experience with quality management systems and certifications, especially IATF16949, ISO9001, or similar.
•    Demonstrated ability to effectively apply quality tools, including 8D, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
•    Familiarity with customer-specific quality standards and audit processes.

•    Skilled application of quality tools (SPC, CPK, MSA, APQP, etc.) to identify quality risk.

•    Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; self-motivated and results-oriented.

•    Ability to use written and spoken English.
•    Time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
