Job Purpose
The QA/QC Engineer (E/I) plays a key role in supporting the QA/QC Lead by overseeing the implementation of quality assurance and quality control activities across CAT IV–VI projects. The position serves as a technical focal point for all electrical and instrumentation quality matters, bridging the QA/QC Section and the Project Management Teams (PMTs). Responsibilities include inspection coordination, contractor performance evaluation, technical oversight of E&I deliverables, and driving continuous improvement through proactive surveillance and closure of quality gaps.

Key Responsibilities Establish strong collaboration with EPC contractors and third-party agencies to support E&I quality initiatives. Analyze project scope to define and lead E&I-specific QA/QC verification activities. Coordinate project quality team meetings and report QA/QC performance metrics to the PMT and QA/QC Lead. Implement project QA/QC plans and ensure consistent application across CAT IV–VI EPC packages. Oversee site and workshop inspection activities, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and compliance. Evaluate the performance of E&I inspectors and recommend training to enhance team capabilities. Lead the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process: issue, investigate root cause, approve dispositions, and drive closure. Capture lessons learned and recommend corrective actions to enhance future project execution. Manage E&I punch-list coordination and ensure completion prior to mechanical acceptance. Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) during FEED reviews, SOW development, and multi-discipline engineered packages. Review material requisitions, approvals, and technical bid evaluations for conformance with QA requirements. Assess criticality of E&I materials and support inspection planning and design compliance. Review vendor inspection and test plans to ensure alignment with QA/QC requirements before manufacturing. Ensure appropriate selection of E&I equipment based on area classification, certifications, and standards. Attend E&I-specific kick-off meetings, pre-inspection meetings, and factory acceptance tests (FAT). Support selection and evaluation of third-party inspectors with E&I expertise, and assist the Source Inspection Coordinator. Develop FAT QA checklists to ensure accurate material inspections at delivery stage. Participate in engineering, procurement, and construction surveillance activities under the annual quality program. Provide interdisciplinary QA/QC reviews of datasheets, GA drawings, SLDs, routing layouts, cause & effect diagrams, logic diagrams, and FAT procedures. Review and validate inspection/test plans for site installation, commissioning, and site acceptance tests (SAT) in line with company standards. Ensure consistent implementation of Client LNG’s HSE requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Job Challenges Managing complex E&I interfaces within brownfield LNG facilities under live operational constraints. Ensuring compliance with Client LNG standards and international codes in aging infrastructure and legacy systems. Coordinating effectively across disciplines to integrate control systems, instrument loops, hazardous area classifications, and safety-critical functions. Addressing undocumented installations, legacy limitations, and ensuring technical resolution of field issues impacting start-up readiness.
Generic Accountabilities HSE Compliance: Ensure all activities align with Client LNG’s Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies. Qatarization: Actively support the development of Qatari staff (mandatory for expatriate roles). Compliance: Adhere to anti-trust laws and corporate firewall policies and procedures.

Experience Minimum 10 years of QA/QC experience in the oil and gas sector, with demonstrated exposure to both greenfield and brownfield projects. Proven experience in managing shutdowns and commissioning activities under live plant conditions, ideally in LNG facilities. Strong understanding of E&I codes and standards such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, and ATEX/IECEx (IEC 60079). Experience developing and executing QA/QC programs for engineering design, procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up, and commissioning phases.
