Job Description

Coordination and Communication:

Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to schedule and execute inspection stages as per ITP and project schedule. Ensure clear communication and alignment among team regarding project requirements, inspection schedules, and quality standards. Attend kick-off meetings, pre-inspection meetings and internal weekly meetings to discuss inspection plans, progress, and any issues or concerns.

Quality Assurance/Control:

Implement and enforce adherence to project specifications, ASME codes (SEC VIII Division 1 / 2), ASME material specifications, and other applicable standards throughout the pressure vessel construction and inspection processes. Participate in internal audits and project audits to assess compliance with quality management systems, identify areas for improvement, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and oversee NCR closure to prevent recurrence.

Customer Interaction and Issue Resolution:

Preparation of quality documents as listed in project specific VDRL and on time submission as agreed in project schedule. Respond to customer complaints, queries, and concerns related to quality issues, inspection results, or project progress. Resolve day-to-day issues encountered during pressure vessel fabrication and inspection activities promptly and effectively. Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders by addressing their needs professionally and ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables. Review of Technical delivery condition (TDC)/Material Purchase Request (MPS)with respect to code and project specific requirements. Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders by addressing their needs professionally and ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables. Verification of NDE status and ensure stage wise inspection to release the equipment for PWHT/HYDRO stages.

Sub-Vendor Coordination:

Coordinate and control activities of subcontractors and external vendors involved in pressure vessel inspection, testing, fabrication, and material supply. Verify the qualifications and capabilities of sub-vendors to ensure they meet project requirements and quality standards.

Documentation and Reporting:

Oversee the preparation of final quality dossiers/documentation packages containing inspection reports, test records, material traceability documents, WSS and NDE reports, as-built drawings, and other relevant documentation for pressure vessels. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of documentation to clients and regulatory authorities.

Technical Expertise:

Possess strong knowledge and understanding of pressure vessel construction codes (ASME SEC VIII Division 1 & 2) and ASME material specifications, and ASME manual. Interpret project specifications accurately and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance during fabrication, inspection, and testing phases.

Toolbox Talk Sessions:

Conduct toolbox talk sessions as required to educate and reinforce good workman ship, highlight quality concerns, quality procedures and to clarify project requirements or discrepancies among team members and subcontractors.

Additional Responsibilities:

Prepare look-ahead inspection schedules in line with project scheduled plan and allocate resources effectively for upcoming inspection activities. Issue inspection notifications (RFIs/NOIs) to clients Monitor and control the allocated QC budget for the project, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma /bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline and preferbaly with certifications in Welding inspection (CSWIP 3.1). Extensive experience (typically 6+ years) in quality control/assurance roles within the pressure vessel manufacturing or construction industry, with specific expertise in inspection and coordination. NDE certification (PCN or ASNT Level II in MT, PT, UT, RTFI) and awareness in ISO 9001-QMS requirements will be added advantage. In-depth knowledge of pressure vessel construction codes (ASME SEC VIII Division 1 & 2), ASME material specifications, welding processes, and fabrication techniques suitable for pressure vessel construction.
