QA/QC Advisor (Mining)

Location: Mildura, VIC, Australia

The company: Global Mining Operator

Assignment length: 12 Months+ (subject to agreement) First 3-6 months working remotely/WFH (8 hours per day) Thereafter, FIFO 19 days on 9 days off (12 hours per day) when on site (Fly in Mondays/ Fly out Fridays in the 19 days = 2 consecutive weekends at home!!) Travel days paid for.

 
The Company

A global mining operator who has a portfolio of resources projects in Australia. As a result of a new project going into construction in mid-2025 (Yes, right now) and aiming for a full operational phase by late 2026, we are looking for an experience QA/QC Advisor to take on this challenge.
 
The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the QA/QC Advisor is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities on the mining project comply with quality standards, specifications, procedures, and client requirements. This role plays a vital part in maintaining quality assurance and control through inspections, documentation, and coordination with project teams, contractors, and suppliers.

Your Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and quality audits on civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical works.

Monitor and ensure compliance with project quality assurance and control requirements.

Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures.

Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.

Liaise with stakeholders, contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality deliverables and workmanship.

Witness testing and commissioning activities where required.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the project’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Maintain accurate and up-to-date QA/QC documentation and records.

Support internal and external audits as required by the client or regulatory bodies.

Participate in pre-start meetings and quality toolbox talks.

 

What you’ll need to succeed

Trades qualified or tertiary qualifications in engineering

Certification in Quality Assurance or Compliance (Desirable)

Proven experience in quality control in mining-related construction in both brownfield and greenfield environments.

Experience and familiarity in the relevant Australian Standards and industry guidelines for Construction and Mining operations.
