QA Lead
Position Summary

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities  

Test Leadership & Project DeliveryLead and manage a QA team of 30+ professionals, including test analysts, automation engineers, and junior leads.Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, and schedules aligned with project delivery milestones.Allocate resources, assign tasks, and monitor team performance to ensure timely and high-quality project outcomes.Act as the primary QA point of contact, providing regular updates to project stakeholders and senior management.Hands-On Test ExecutionActively participate in test case design, execution, and defect management for critical project components.Oversee the creation, review, and maintenance of all test documentation (test cases, scripts, traceability matrices).Drive the adoption and integration of test automation and continuous integration practices where feasible.Quality Assurance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure adherence to QA best practices, standards, and methodologies across the project lifecycle.Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.Facilitate root cause analysis for defects and drive corrective and preventive actions.Stakeholder Management & CommunicationCollaborate with project managers, product owners, developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and test coverage is complete.Communicate test progress, results, risks, and issues clearly and proactively to all relevant parties.Manage escalations and provide solutions to resolve testing-related challenges.Reporting & MetricsDefine, track, and report on key QA and project delivery metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, execution progress).Prepare and present regular status reports, dashboards, and post-release quality summaries to stakeholders.Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and / or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement managementIndependently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.7+ years of experience in QA/testing, with at least 2 years in a lead or managerial role within project delivery environments.Proven experience managing large QA teams (20+), preferably in complex, multi-phase project delivery settings.Strong understanding of project delivery management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and best practices.Expertise in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, Zephyr) and automation frameworks.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.ISTQB or equivalent QA certification preferred.Limited immigration sponsorship may be availableAbility to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

This compensation range is specific to New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $143000 to $158000

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
