Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Assurance Technician to support our QA Lab Manager and Supervisor in testing fuzzy, processed, and carryover cottonseed to ensure quality standards are met. This role involves working across two distinct seasons within the crop year, focusing on seed sampling, inspection, and laboratory testing.

Monday-Friday; 5AM-5:30PM.

Sunday- Thursday; 5PM-5:30AM

Key Responsibilities:

Summer Season (Processed Seed Sampling):

Sample processed cottonseed returned to our distribution center during summer months.Follow BASF guidelines to properly sample both bulk boxes and bagged seed lots.Inspect seed for visual quality concerns and accurately document findings.Collaborate with BASF leads and QA management to ensure consistency in sampling protocols.

Fall/Winter Season (Fuzzy Seed Testing):

Conduct testing on truckloads of fuzzy cottonseed in a laboratory environment.Perform various lab tests including, but not limited to:Moisture contentTemperatureFree Fatty Acid (FFA)Genetic PurityVisual Mechanical DamageAdventitious Presence (AP)Seed Count and pHWarm and Cool Germination testingSeed Appearance evaluation

Work Experience

Qualifications:

Background in biology, laboratory work, or agriculture preferred.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.Comfortable working in both warehouse and laboratory settings.Ability to lift and handle seed bags and bulk containers as needed.Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Schedule & Requirements:

Flexibility to work seasonally with increased hours during peak testing periods.Must be able to work in a physical environment (distribution center and lab).Training will be provided on specific sampling and testing procedures.
