Job Title: QA Inspector
Job Description

The QA Inspector ensures that all products released for distribution comply with applicable specifications. This role involves managing materials in the warehouse to ensure they are appropriately identified as to status and stored correctly. The QA Inspector is responsible for verifying that only released materials are used in production and that all materials are appropriately sampled, tested, and meet specifications before their use in production.

ResponsibilitiesAssure compliance with applicable SOPs.Ensure manufacturing complies with Batch Record Instructions and requirements.Receive and sample all raw materials and components for appropriate testing.Quarantine and release finished products for shipping.Ensure all items in the plant, including raw materials, components, packaging, labels, finished products, reject materials, and rework materials, are appropriately labeled and stored according to SOPs.Administer the label program.Inspect production lines.Conduct appropriate sampling, storage, and status labeling of pallets of incoming materials until tested for compliance with specifications and released for use.Conduct appropriate sampling and storage of finished products until tested and released for production.Review batch records to ensure only released ingredients, components, and labeling are used in production.Assist the Quality Manager in product investigations where deviations have occurred in manufacturing, or complaints or product failures have been reported.Maintain label inventory, issue labels to production, return labels to inventory, and facilitate reconciliation of label inventory.Inspect production lines, checking for PPE, labels, codes, weights, and compliance with product specifications.Essential Skills1+ years of quality inspection experience in a GMP environment required, 3+ years preferred.HS Diploma required.Proficient computer skills to work within the QMS/Database, including basic skills or experience in a similar system like SAP or equivalent ERP.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in quality assurance, quality inspection, and quality check processes.Work Environment

The QA Inspector will work primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with moderate overtime of 4-6 hours weekly. There is a possibility of Saturday work, typically one Saturday a month. The team consists of three inspectors and a supervisor, interfacing with production and warehouse personnel. Sampling duties are typically performed one day a week, constituting 80% of the workday compared to 20% in the office. Other days will involve 70% office release work and 30% inspections and auditing in production/warehouse environments. The work environment can be dusty due to the powdered products or animal feed-based products. The role offers 6 paid holidays and 40 hours of PTO, with a plan for conversion at the end of the assignment as there is an open headcount already approved.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
