Required skills and work to be undertakenManual testing of Android featuresfollowing a defined test planfollowing instruction to regularly wipe mobile devices (using real and emulated devices), and reprovision them with custom software and configuration for testingrunning pre-existing automated tests also, and monitoring their outputfollowing defined accessibility and localization test planscommunicating issues discovered during testing in a clear manner, and working with the engineering team to gather required diagnostic information to assist in fixing the problems.Performing periodic (eg. weekly) regression testing and signing off releases.Performing functional testing as needed before the launch of larger features, with more rigorous testing and closer engagement with the SWE team to cover the feature well and sign-off as launch ready.Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test execution results.Performing exploratory testing, going beyond the written test plan and using expertise and intuition to try and ‘break’ a product in creative ways and uncover new bugs to fix.Preferable skills and work to be undertakenWorking with the SWE team during the development of a new feature to help draft the manual test plan for both feature testing, and the changes needed to the weekly regression plan.Proactive feedback on potential improvements to the manual test plans and testing process.Perform usability testing, and give feedback as a real user on the usability of new features.Moving some manual testing to automated test frameworks where sensible to do so.
