PVT Engineer

1. General duties: 

This role involves leading a team of engineers with a significant focus on vehicle quality improvement, launch support, and team development. Key responsibilities include

A. Vehicle Quality Leadership

Ongoing Quality Improvement (Focus on VRTs): Lead and drive the quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives within related VRTs. Ensure the timely identification, containment, and resolution of both incoming and in-plant quality concerns. Incorporate containment, improvements, and preventive measures into the Production & Quality Assurance system of VO, PTOs, and Suppliers. Vehicle Line Quality Performance (Bowler Plan): Drive the overall quality performance of the assigned vehicle line, aligned with the Bowler plan strategy. Provide monthly updates on key metrics (actuals and forecasts), supporting these with detailed action plans and Quality Flash reports. Steer VRT teams towards achieving YTD stretch objectives and MOP forecasts.

B. Vehicle Launches & Engineering Change Management (Focus on PMTs):

Lead quality-related activities during vehicle launches. Manage the resolution of issues (e.g., AIM issues), alert processes, rework planning, Bill of Materials (BOM) validation, End-of-Line (EOL) checks, FER, and ESO activities. Lead the analysis and implementation of engineering changes without causing production or quality concerns.

C. Compliance:

Drive to have related VRT components re-certification/vehicle re-certification/engineering change certification on time, no affecting continuous production. Other departmental/job-related compliances.

D. People Development & Team Management

Effectively lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Conduct key people management processes, including: Setting clear performance objectives and goals for team members. Developing and supporting Individual Development Plans and career paths (e.g., LDEP). Assessing training needs and coordinating relevant development opportunities. Conducting regular performance reviews and appraisals (e.g., interim and year-end). Contributing to succession planning for key roles within the team.

2. Any other tasks are assigned by the direct People Leader or the Head of the Department.
