Purchasing Specialist
Job Description

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to manage the sourcing, procurement, and inventory control of materials, components, equipment, and services that support Agilent manufacturing and facility expansion projects. This role ensures alignment with supply chain optimization goals and plays a key part in supporting new product introduction (NPI) initiatives.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Manage procurement and inventory of direct and indirect materials in line with supply chain objectives.

Lead purchasing efforts to support facility expansion initiatives, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.

Collaborate with the Accounts Payable (AP) team to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Coordinate material sourcing activities for NPI projects in partnership with R&D and Marketing.

Establish and manage supplier relationships, including contract and pricing negotiations, supplier performance monitoring (using TQRDCE), and market analysis.

May manage relationships with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) or Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) to ensure optimal cost, quality, and availability.

Drive or contribute to process improvement initiatives in areas such as supply chain optimization, risk mitigation, cost savings, and quality enhancement.

Ensure compliance with regulatory or industry-specific requirements related to the product or category.

May support operations at a global or multi-site level

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain operations.

Experience working with MRP/ERP systems is required; SAP experience strongly preferred.

Strong financial acumen and understanding of procurement cost drivers preferred.

Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant post-graduate certifications (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP) may be required or considered a plus.

Experience working in global supply chains or multi-site environments is advantageous.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., life sciences, medical devices, electronics manufacturing).

Prior involvement in facility expansions or large capital procurement projects.

Demonstrated success in NPI sourcing and supplier onboarding.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $79,200.00 - $123,750.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
