Purchasing Specialist
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in purchase order processing and inventory management, with opportunities to leverage prior buyer experience as a valuable asset. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless operation of our procurement workflow and inventory control processes. Key Responsibilities + Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate records. + Monitor inventory levels to ensure appropriate stock for operational needs, identify shortages, and schedule restocks as necessary. + Communicate with suppliers/vendors to confirm pricing, track order status, and resolve issues or delays. + Reconcile discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts. + Maintain and update purchasing and inventory databases for accurate reporting and analysis. + Collaborate with internal teams to forecast inventory needs and implement best practices in procurement. + Assist in vendor relationship management by evaluating performance and ensuring compliance with contract terms. + Provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and streamline purchasing processes. Requirements Qualifications + Proven experience with processing purchase orders and inventory management systems. + Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail. + Strong communication and negotiation abilities when interacting with vendors and internal teams. + Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is highly preferred. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. + Buyer experience or understanding of vendor sourcing and procurement strategies is a plus. Preferred Competencies + Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines. + Analytical mindset for identifying cost-saving opportunities. + Familiarity with industry trends in purchasing and inventory management.
