In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
This facility will offer 1,200 local new jobs and will be the first health manufacturing facility in Querétaro (pioneers for healthcare Hub).

**MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE**
Manage all aspects of purchasing, supplier-commercial relations, for the site. Design and execute strategies to meet short and long-term supply issues related to raw materials as well as purchasing activities for indirect materials, components, equipment and services. Manage Purchasing Price Variances (PPV). This position works closely with partners within supply chain, operations and quality managers to ensure supply of purchased components. Participates and leads cost savings initiatives through cross-functional team engagement. Assigns work based on priorities necessary to support Raw and Indirect Materials Supply, inventory management, Planning, Manufacturing and Logistics. Expediently initiates investigations of problems; exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility. Ensures employee compliance with Abbott policies and practices.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Position will be responsible of the personnel facilitation, training and development.
• Manages suppliers and material availability to ensure production plans are met. Ensures the investment of inventory is optimal to support both production and inventory management goals.
• Monitors supplier performance, participates and leads when required in development of sourcing strategy and activities. Develops inventory strategies designed to ensure material availability, inventory investment and optimal pricing.
• Reviews and monitors scrap material to identify systemic problems. Participates in departmental meetings to share information regarding status and condition of production materials and related, and/or new developments.
• Coordinates interdepartmental activity with QA, manufacturing, engineering, and others.
• Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Education: Industrial Engineering or Similar.
Must have 8 + years of experience in an international manufacturing environment, purchasing, planning. (at least 4 years as a Manager).
+ Must have a track record of managing teams that accomplish objectives on schedule, and within budget.
+ Must be able to demonstrate past continuous improvement accomplishments.
+ Must have working knowledge of materials/manufacturing systems, Lean Manufacturing.
+ Computer Knowledge in programs as; (Excel, Word & Power Point) plusknowledge of SAP systems.
+ Language Proficiency: English Advanced.
+ SAP experience, key user preferred in MM systems.
