The Purchasing Manager plays a vital role in our team, overseeing the procurement and maintenance of optimal inventory levels. This dynamic position ensures that our company's material needs are consistently met with excellence. The Purchasing Manager is dedicated to resolving any material quality issues at their root cause, striving to achieve and maintain ship-to-use status for all materials. In this leadership role, the Purchasing Manager will inspire and manage employees in the Purchasing department, and may also oversee teams in the Receiving, Shipping, and Recycling departments. This role is pivotal in building a strong team by interviewing potential candidates, hiring, training, and developing employees to reach their full potential.
Highlights of your role Goal Setting: Establish team objectives aligned with company strategies and performance targets. Implement corrective actions as needed.Team Development and Accountability: Foster team growth and hold members accountable for their performance.Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to meet supply chain needs.Assist with Supplier Escalations: Support team members and handle escalated supplier issues.Liaison for Plant Leadership: Serve as the primary contact between plant leadership and the supply chain team.S&OE Engagement: Participate in Sales and Operations Execution activities to align daily operations with strategic goals.Project Management: Oversee improvement projects to ensure successful execution and alignment with company objectives.Review and Adjust Metrics: Monitor and adjust Customer Delivery As Promised metrics, providing direction for MRP adjustments.Operations Scorecard: Track and update scorecard metrics to meet performance targets and identify improvement areas.Month-End Reporting: Report department scorecard metrics and provide strategic direction for improvement.MRP Forecast Review: Evaluate MRP forecasts to ensure alignment with production needs and inventory policies.Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Annual Budget Input: Contribute to the annual budget by providing input on supply chain costs and resource requirements. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) Computer proficiency (ICIM, Word, Excel)Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to read and understand material prints and specificationsUnderstanding of material quality requirements, processes and proceduresAbility to analyze inventory usage and requirementsSupervisory experience is strongly preferredPurchasing processes and systems knowledgeNegotiating skills Also want to make sure you have Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience is requiredA minimum of four years of Quality/Purchasing management is preferredKnowledge/experience of Marvin product7-10 years of leadership experience, preferably in purchasingKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles, MRP and team-based operations We invite you to See Yourself at MarvinFrom people to products, Marvin is committed to creating better ways of living.
