Description We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team in Portage, Michigan. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in procurement and supply chain management. You will play a key role in overseeing purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective procurement, and maintaining supplier relationships. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet organizational goals. • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms. • Oversee the procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards. • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock. • Analyze purchasing trends and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities. • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities. • Prepare and present reports on purchasing performance and budget utilization. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline procurement processes. • Resolve any issues related to supplier performance or material shortages. • Identify and onboard new suppliers to diversify the supply chain and mitigate risks. Requirements • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement management roles. • Strong knowledge of purchasing strategies, methods, and tools. • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills. • Familiarity with inventory control and supply chain operations. • Ability to analyze market trends and supplier performance. • Proficiency in procurement software and systems. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
