Education / Educación: Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, International Commerce or related field
Experience / Experiencia: Eight years in purchasing, logistics, materials or similar positions, preferable experience on the medical (or other regulated) industry. Desirable experience in people/teams management.
Specialized Knowledge (Desirable) / Conocimiento especializado (preferible): Strong knowledge of computer software and hardware including Supply chain systems (ERP, MRP) Financial knowledge for budget management. Others: ISO 13486:2003, FDA, ANSI, OSHA, legislación aduanal, legislación del régimen de zona franca, legislación nacional (ministerios de salud, hacienda).

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities / Resumen de funciones y responsabilidades: Development and implementation of successful Procurement/Logistics sourcing strategies Discovering profitable suppliers and initiate partnerships Negotiating with external vendors to secure advantageous terms. Monitoring markets and aligning with Hologic global procurement & logistics strategy Manage and support other Hologic facilities, Ensure that Procurement Team as a Center of Excellence. Organize, plan, and prioritize work. Identify and prioritize problems and drive them to resolution. Lead the purchasing & logistics team (1:1s, supervision, mentoring, coaching, guidance, development) Evaluate and review subordinate performance via goal-setting and the performance review process Assist buyers & logistics specialist on solving day to day issues with buyers and suppliers. Track Corporate initiatives execution (Spend analytics, Commodity teams, payment terms, contracts) Ensure robust procurement & logistics processes and systems are in place. Develop robust negotiation strategies. Develop & implement a Contract management system Execute actions to achieve at least 5% cost reduction on materials (VIP, Negotiations) Manage procurement & logistics activities (supplier development, selection, quoting process, contracting, PO management) for products and services from development to retirement. Responsible for the supply of component required to support the production plan through the Procurement process and transportation for Finished Product as well. (IMPORT/EXPORT/LOCAL FREIGHT & TRADE COMPLIANCE) Participate in a cross functional NPI team to achieve product goals related to cost, time to market and quality. Ensure vendor’s supply chain and materials and logistics service market trends are constantly monitored to avoid supply interruption. Lead Supplier Business Reviews process for key suppliers for Procurement and for Logistics partners. Ensure proper communications and liaison between suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers. Develop and implement strategies to reduce standard cost and optimize company’s cash flow. Develop and implement strategies to increase inventory turns. Responsible to negotiate contracts and monitor their progress.

Good networking capability in a matrixed organization A desire and to motivate and drive change within the organization. Demonstrated ability to integrate quickly and take initiative in a fast-paced working environment. Analytical minded. Proficient in Negotiation and networking skills
