Indirect Purchasing Materials – PaaS Team
-This is a 7th level position with no People Leader responsibilities
-Hybrid position 3 days at office 2 days working from home
Role:
The Indirect Services Buyer is responsible for the negotiations, contract materials and ongoing management of indirect materials. The role includes direct oversite in a highly functioning area that supports local stakeholders and supplier relationship management, as well as overall driving Team direction and execution. The responsibilities include developing and implementing strategy plans while working to obtain budget and spending deliverables. Work is of a difficult nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, leadership skills, mentoring, negotiations, and a high level of independent judgment. As a lead, you will be expected to promote innovation and transformation within the organization while driving alignment to the GP&MS Vision. This role may have direct contracting responsibility for high impact agreements within the area.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership to team and interacts and collaborates with multi-functional teams to achieve goals and/or targets and execute commercial strategiesDevelop and execute robust strategies based on market and technology trends, while executing comprehensive business plans to meet business priorities.Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipelines and Business Over Time, benchmarking data, CT strategy presentations, global budget and on-time metricsKeep abreast of current developments, market trends, and innovation in areas of expertiseUtilize the sourcing process to manage sourcing packages (RFQ, Quote Analysis and Source Selection) and to establish a capable/competitive global supply baseAnalyze and apply appropriate tools, i.e. cost models, benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, value chain analysis, supplier negotiations, change management, etc.Manage supplier relationships and ensure achievement of supplier commitments (Quality, Cost, Performance, Timing and Sustainability)Support Conduent staff with resolution of operational, pricing and negotiations issues which will require independent thinking, purchasing experience and self-resolutionCommunicate budget targets and pricing changes while holding the team and supplier accountable to meet / exceed operational targetsAbility to problem solve and implement new and innovative strategiesAdhere to corporate and unit purchasing and accounting practices and proceduresPromote GM's values and make customer-focused decisionsRole Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, and/or MBA preferredAdvanced English5 years Indirect Purchasing and/or Contract Support experienceRequired Indirect purchasing experience with knowledge of existing tools, systems, and processes for direct sourcingProject management skillsAbility to work independentlyStrong oral and written communication skillsHigh level knowledge (or ability to learn) the types of contracted services being supportedStrong analytical skillsAbility to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, while prioritizing requestsAppropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal business partners to meet mutual goals Knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Knowledge of Global Business Solutions and Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services Policies and ProceduresLow frecuency travelNote: GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
