Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Purchasing Direct Supervisor located in Orangeburg, SC.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the Purchasing Direct Supervisor role involves being in charge of overseeing activities related to the procurement of direct materials, parts, components and equipment, and directs/coordinates activities of personnel engaged in procurement.

General duties will include identifying and procuring the goods and services that an organization requires, manage all procurement related activities. Maintain purchasing goals/metrics, develop purchasing policy and procedures and to guide and mentor the team with regard to all purchasing activities to ensure value is achieved providing maximum value to the business.

What a typical day looks like:

Assist management to establish roles and duties of purchasing goalsDrive for Inventory Turn Over improvement per site targetsManage and optimize inventory at target levelsDrive for 100% supplier on time deliveryInitiate inventory control/cost containment to give in Purchase Price VarianceSupervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and servicesWork closely with the team to ensure purchasing compliance to corporate directivesReview controls to reduce exposures on End of Life Projects to minimize exposure on obsolete stockHelp corporate excess materials internal programs (as appropriate)Deal with day-to-day operational issues with staff and act as escalation to unresolved HR issues to managementStreamline Purchasing processes and develop integrated purchasing strategies to effectively manage the suppliers on order fulfillment and assurance of supplyDirect, develop & implement policies, procedures, and metrics to effectively manage materials shortages & ensure order fulfillment.Creates and presents customized reporting using Microsoft Excel (reports for top purchasing management)Experience with high volume manufacturing, SMT, automated linesCreate an environment that fosters team building & high performanceInterface with both internal & external stakeholder to derive achievable targets, set up strategic plan and drive the team towards meeting the target as set forth.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience.Demonstrates functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Team player with strong organizational skills Strong attention to detail.Ability to make quick decisions Must have strong verbal and written communication skillsCPIM and CPM preferred.Impacts the near-term (quarterly/semi-annual) operational success of the function. Creates functional processes or technologies. Executes and provides input to functional strategic plans and objectives for site. May lead a major initiative that may impact multiple sites/customers.Makes decisions for the function. Decisions may affect multiple departments or functionsDemonstrates skills in performance management, teaching/leading, counseling and mentoring.
