Job Description:

Aerovel (The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program) is looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our Procurement department based in Bingen, WA.

In this role, you’ll execute contracts and administrative duties strategically, ensuring compliance and operational congruence. The specialist excels in collaborating across the business, understanding the needs of the engineering and operations teams to source and deliver high quality conforming hardware and services.

The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most advanced small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea.

Your Challenges:

Primary Responsibilities: 

Order & Receive Product / Service: 50%

Review, track and process Purchase Requisitions, ensuring correct payment terms, deliverables and alignment with process.

Issue Purchase Orders

Support internal customer issues and training for the ordering process 

Ensure that deliverables are in line with the contractual terms (cost, time, quality).

Procurement Strategy and Compliance: 20%

Ensure compliance with the procurement strategy 

Secure long-term alignment of the preferred supplier base

Conduct the procurement process to fulfill business needs and provide internal customers with valued services in compliance with procedures and guidelines 

Contribute to the implementation of new procurement techniques

Drive Sourcing Projects: 15%

Obtain quotes and perform Requests for Information

Coordinate, set up and maintain an active supplier list, ensuring documentation is accurate and aligns with process.

Negotiate, establish and implement project contracts.

Monitor savings linked to demand management and procurement performance.

Support Engineering and Facilities teams with all prototyping, general goods, and services contracts supporting day-to-day operations and special projects. 

Negotiate, establish and implement project contracts. Collaborate with engineering focal team members for Scope of Work

(SOW) design and ensure selected suppliers meet contract requirements.

Supplier Management: 15%

Develop and maintain an efficient supply chain capable of delivering goods/work packages (services), matching Airbus Group requirements and business objectives.

Ensure continuous commercial relationships with suppliers to secure work with best-in-class suppliers and protect Airbus Group from contractual risks.

Support supplier setup process and ensure proper payment terms.

Follow-up contracts with contract reviews within Airbus Group’s internal customer base and suppliers, based on consistent and factual KPIs, evaluate and improve suppliers’ performance in terms of time, costs and quality.

Assess suppliers’ overall performance and the impact of weak performance on Airbus Group; and initiate recovery actions when necessary.

Additional Responsibilities: 

Other duties as assigned:       

Assist in configuration management, EOL mitigation, and ERP system maintenance.

Assist in product inventory when necessary

Assist in receiving and kitting when necessary

Support the Program and Engineering teams facilitating product cost and availability questions.

Assist with accounts payable and invoice resolution as needed


 

Your Boarding Pass:

Required:

Bachelors degree or equivalent in experience

Minimum of two (2) years in a procurement or commodity-related function.

Up to 5% Domestic and International Travel involved

 Authorized to Work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship

Project management skills sufficient to perform procurement projects/call for tenders.

Basic negotiation skills.

Basic knowledge about procurement contracts.

Basic financial skills.

Demonstrated success as a participant in an effective team.

Customer focused and solution-oriented.

Demonstrated skill as a problem-solver.

Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English 

Microsoft Word/Excel knowledge required

Preferred:

Knowledge of and experience in Costpoint strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Onsite or remote: 95% Onsite (subject to local policies)

Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.   Daily

Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.   Daily

Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.   Daily

Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment.  Daily

Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs.  Daily

Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs/5kgs. Daily

Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture.  Occasionally

Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.  Daily

Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.  Occasionally

Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.  Daily

Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.  Frequently

Walking (routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.   Occasionally

Personal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Ability to work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship is required for this position.

Salary range:

Salary range based on the required profile: $81,000 - $105,000/year.  Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
