Job Title: Purchasing Analyst - Indirect Purchasing
Salary: £29,428 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Larne

About Global Financial Services Division (GFSD) - Indirect Procurement
Part of the Global Financial Services Division, Indirect Procurement, is the end to end, synchronised organisations which develops and deploys tools necessary to achieve operational excellence. Supporting Business Units across the globe, Indirect Procurement manages over $5bn and consistently delivers $100m+ of annual savings. This is achieved by leveraging sophisticated digital tools, standardisation and a focus on compliance through Purchasing and Enterprise Policies.
The Opportunity

We are seeking a junior buyer / analyst with resilience and agility to support the indirect purchasing needs of our stakeholders. This fast paced and critical role places you at the forefront in supporting the delivery of Caterpillars established and trusted products.

What You Will Do:
As part of the EAME Indirect Purchasing team, you will apply your business insight to achieve cost and inventory savings, quality enhancements, and risk management.
You will also partner with Category Buyers to assess prudent strategic road mapping and develop sourcing strategies that comply with the global standards and best practices. You will report to the Regional Procurement Manager and contribute to the implementation of regional service delivery at the facility level, as well as resolving supplier issues in coordination with category and supply chain professionals.
Job Responsibilities
Drive Operational Excellence Across Sites
Support Category Buyers and the Regional Procurement Manager in managing purchasing, logistics, and materials across three dynamic facilities—ensuring seamless operations and strategic alignment.
Be the Voice Between Partners
Act as the key liaison between our organization and suppliers, ensuring clear, timely communication and maintaining accurate, high-quality supplier master data
Champion Supplier Performance
Monitor and document supplier performance with a focus on timeliness and production reliability, while nurturing strong, collaborative relationships that drive mutual success.
Empower Business-Critical Decisions
Enable internal stakeholders to meet their objectives by preparing and executing precise, time-sensitive purchase orders that keep projects moving forward.
Turn Data into Action
Prepare and present insightful business intelligence that supports performance tracking and empowers data-driven decision-making at all levels.
What You Will Have:
Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Level Basic Understanding:
Collect and document data from multiple sources to identify trends and support business activities.
Create compelling visuals—charts, graphs, and tables—to communicate findings clearly.
Analyze and interpret business data to support strategic decision-making.
Identify performance gaps and recommend improvements.
Confidently use data analysis tools, including the Microsoft Data Analytics suite (Power BI, Excel, Power Query, etc.) and O365 applications, to deliver impactful insights.

Top Candidates May Have:
Supplier Relationship Management
Worked within a procurement environment within a manufacturing facility
Good use of Power BI, Snowflake or SQL database query writing
Skilled in full Procure to Pay process with a focus on understanding various transactional methods and PO construction.
Degree Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Additional Information:
Hours: Full Time – 37.50, 5 days in the Larne Facility
