Purchasing Analyst
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Analyst to join our team in New York, NY. This long-term contract position involves supporting procurement operations by analyzing purchasing data, optimizing processes, and ensuring efficiency across procurement activities. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to manage vendor relationships, evaluate contracts, and oversee purchasing processes with a focus on accuracy and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities: • Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvements. • Collaborate with the Executive Administrative Officer and Accounts Payable teams to manage purchase orders and goods receipts. • Evaluate vendor bids and contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance with organizational standards. • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of goods and services. • Conduct detailed reviews of payment terms and cost of goods sold (COGS) to optimize financial outcomes. • Utilize Microsoft Excel and other tools to perform advanced data analysis and reporting. • Apply procurement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs. • Ensure accuracy and compliance in 3-way matching processes between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. • Support the implementation of procurement policies and procedures to drive operational excellence. Requirements • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing activities, preferably within a non-profit or similar organization. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis. • Familiarity with supply chain strategies and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis. • Demonstrated ability to perform 3-way matching processes accurately and efficiently. • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors. • Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems and tools. • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
