Purchasing Agent
Description We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in managing procurement activities, ensuring seamless supplier coordination, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the efficiency and success of procurement operations within the organization. Responsibilities: • Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders using the organization's procurement system. • Maintain detailed procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure invoices are properly formatted for timely payment processing. • Provide support to staff and faculty with procurement-related tasks, including supplier registration and creating requisitions. • Assist in monitoring the receipt of goods and services to ensure alignment with purchase agreements. • Partner with the Accounting Manager to address procurement duties in accordance with organizational policies. • Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal departments to resolve procurement-related inquiries. • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures while supporting organizational goals. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field is preferred. • Proven experience in administrative or procurement roles, preferably within higher education or public sector environments. • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to interact with suppliers and internal teams. • Familiarity with procurement systems such as Oracle or other similar platforms. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools. • Experience in a university or non-profit setting is a plus. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
